PROSTAID Calgary announces that its November meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 15th at 7:30 p.m. at the CKE Community Centre. These monthly public awareness and support meetings are intended to assist prostate cancer survivor warriors and their wives and caregivers on their healing journeys. Every meeting features a talk on pre-selected topics from health specialists in the field of prostate cancer research.

According to the organization’s latest announcement, the November 2023 general meeting will feature talks by two leaders of the Prostate Cancer Centre about the Centre’s most recent work on the early detection of the disease and its services for patients and their families.
One of these services is PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood testing to detect prostate cancer in its early stages. One of the meeting’s featured speakers is significantly involved in the Prostate Cancer Centre’s pioneering mobile men’s health clinic, known as the MAN VAN, which offers PSA blood testing at no charge to patients.
A major theme of the meeting will be the importance of taking advantage of no-cost or low-cost diagnostic methods like PSA blood tests as a reminder to early-stage cancer warriors and their caretakers that it is their responsibility to minister to their personal health needs.
No appointment is necessary to receive a PSA blood test at the MAN VAN, and each test takes only 15 minutes. If a patient scores high on their test, a staff member will follow up with them about the next steps and will ensure they have access to the necessary resources.
